Sullivan and Carver

I feel like I'm going crazy working on this line, sometimes.
I cannot find my Malissa Ann Carver (who married Ezekiel George Jasper Sullivan) on a cenus before 1860. I cannot figure out who her parents are, and the information that I received about the Carver's from another researcher just does not seem right to me. Using census information, which I can only assume Malissa Carver Sullivan provided herself, I know that the info the person sent me is incorrect. :(
